The Shenanigans Ensue

So, I have these friends.. I guess you could call them hipster? Not for music or fashion, but rather, they're foodie snobs. They wouldn't be caught dead in an overexposed bistro or crowded pub. Okay, that was a little bit of an exaggeration. But they do know a lot about the ins and outs of foodie scene. Last night, they took me out for dinner and drinks in Hongdae. As the totally clueless one, I let them take charge of where to go and what to eat.
키즈나
Kizuna is in the center of the busy, party scene of Hongdae, but offers a bit of peace with some Nihongo hospitality. The little whole-in-the-wall pub, with vintage Japanese printout advertisement decor and vandalized walls gives off a cool and easy-going feel that exemplifies the artsy district. Expect an extensive sake menu and the usual Japanese anju. No sushi here! Just good, ol' fashioned comfort food perfect for beer night.
삼겹살 숙주 볶음
계란 말이
I'm definitely coming back. For those egg rolls, if nothing else!
Stop number two: Cafe Danchu
Belgium beer and carrot cake
P.S. By far, the worst carrot cake I've ever had in my life. :(
Anyway, cheers to good food and good company!
